Further casting announced for upcoming National Theatre productions
Further casting has been revealed for the National Theatre’s upcoming productions.
The full cast have been announced for Larry Kramer’s ground-breaking play The Normal Heart, directed by Dominic Cooke, running from 23 September to 6 November. Joining the previously announced Robert Bowman, Liz Carr, Ben Daniels, Daniel Krikler, Daniel Monks, Elander Moore, Luke Norris, Henry Nott, Freddie Stabb and Danny Lee Wynter, will be Dino Fetscher as Felix and Richard Cant.
The Normal Heart centres on Ned Weeks, the co-founder of an AIDS advocacy group fighting to change the world around him. It is co-produced with Fictionhouse, and has set design by Vicki Mortimer, costumes by Lisa Duncan, lighting by Paule Constable, and sound by Carolyn Downing.
Casting has also been revealed for Moira Buffini's darkly comic new play Manor, directed by Fiona Buffini, running from 16 November-30 December. The piece follows the owner of a run down manor, who shelters a group of individuals during a storm – including the leader of a far-right organisation.
Nancy Carroll (The Crown) plays Diana with Shaun Evans (Endeavour) as Ted, alongside Effie Ansah, Michele Austin, Helen Barford, Chris Barritt, Mat Betteridge, Sophie Bradley, Peter Bray, Sophie Cartman, Gillian Dean, Liadán Dunlea, Amy Forrest, Lewis Griffin, David Hargreaves, Edward Judge, Owen McDonnell and Shaniqua Okwok.
Manor has set and costume design by Lez Brotherston, lighting by Jon Clark, composition and sound by Jon Nicholls, and video by Nina Dunn.
The venue has also announced dates for its co-produced revival of Ayub Khan Din's East Is East, with Birmingham Rep. The show will play in Birmingham first from 3-25 September, before transferring to the National's Lyttelton Theatre from 7-30 October.
The show is directed by Iqbal Khan, with set design by Bretta Gerecke and costumes by Susan Kulkarni.
