Cambridge’s Town and Gown Theatre has announced full casting for its first in-house production since launching last year, Ordinary Days, and there may be a couple of names you might be familiar with, Besties.

Adam Gwon’s witty and captivating four-person musical will play at the venue from 13-17 October, directed by theatre manager Karl Steele, with musical direction by Nick Allen.

This production is a re-working of Steele’s 2017 production at his previous theatre The Old Joint Stock Theatre in Birmingham. Specialising in intimate fringe production, the show will be staged in the round at the Town and Gown’s brand new 100-seater theatre space.

Returning cast members include WEBF’s founding editor James Edge (Jason), WEBF’s creative director Duncan Burt (Warren) and Lisa MacGregor (Claire), and they are joined by recent graduate Dora Gee (Deb) who will be making her professional debut.

Ordinary Days is the captivating story of what happens when uptight graduate student Deb loses the notebook that contains all of her notes for her thesis somewhere on the streets of New York. Little does she know that Warren, the struggling artist and professional cat sitter who finds and returns the notebook to her, will have such a profound effect on her life. And meanwhile, their actions affect Jason and Claire, a couple inching toward marriage who ultimately can’t seem to completely figure each other out because of an unspeakable tragedy from years ago.
