Full casting announced for BRING IT ON THE MUSICAL starring Amber Davies & Louis Smith
Selladoor Worldwide have today announced the full cast for Bring It On The Musical who will appear alongside the previously announced Amber Davies as ‘Campbell’ and Louis Smith as ‘Cameron’.
The production opens at Southbank Centre Queen Elizabeth Hall in London on 8 December 2021, following performances at Peterborough New Theatre and ahead of a UK tour in 2022.
Bring It On The Musical takes audiences on a high-flying, energy-fuelled journey which tackles friendship, jealousy, betrayal and forgiveness – wrapped up in explosive choreography and tricks.
Cheer-royalty and newly crowned Squad Captain, Campbell, should be embarking on her most cheertastic senior year at Truman High School. When she’s forced to move to the neighbouring hard-knock Jackson High, Campbell fears her life is over. But an unlikely friendship catapults Campbell back into contention with a powerhouse squad and the fire to achieve the impossible.
The cast will also star Vanessa Fisher (Follies, Motown the Musical) as ‘Danielle’, Alicia Belgarde (Little Miss Sunshine) as ‘Eva’, Georgia Bradshaw (Dreamgirls) as ‘Nautica’, Marvyn Charles (Everybody’s Talking About Jamie) as ‘Twig’, Chelsea Hall making her professional debut as ‘Bridget’, Chloe Pool (Everybody’s Talking About Jamie) as ‘Skylar’, Biancha Szynal (Everybody’s Talking About Jamie) as ‘Kylar’, Samuel Wilson-Freeman (Annie) as ‘Steve’, Connor Carson (Blitz!) as ‘Randall’ and following consultations with members of the transgender theatre community, the show is delighted to announce star of Australian X Factor 2014, runner up of Australia’s Got Talent 2009 and cast member of the most recent Asian tour of Cats, Jal Joshua (he/she/they) as ‘La Cienega’.
Completing the company are Paris Green, Sergi Ibanez, Jordan Isaac, Bethany Kate, Gareth Moran, Ayden Morgan, Kenedy Small and Zinzile Tshuma, with a further cast member to be announced soon.
Bring It On The Musical features an original score by the multi award winning creator of Hamilton, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Pulitzer Prize winning Tom Kitt, composer of Next To Normal. The book is written by the Tony Award winning writer of Avenue Q, Jeff Whitty and the lyrics are by both Miranda and writer of the stage adaptation of High Fidelity, Amanda Green.
The production is directed by Guy Unsworth, with choreography by Fabian Aloise, set design by Libby Watson, costumes by Susan Kulkarni, lighting by Matt Daw, sound by Ross Portway, musical supervision by Mark Crossland, and musical direction by Sarah Burrell.
