Full casting announced for AVENUE Q & LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS at Birmingham’s Old Joint Stock Theatre

OJS Summer cast

Ahead of its most ambitious and exciting summer season yet, full casting has been announced for Avenue Q and Little Shop of Horrors at Birmingham’s Old Joint Stock Theatre.

These much-loved musicals will run back to back at the venue with the same cast performing in both productions.

Following performances in the critically acclaimed The Full Monty, Alex Wadham (42nd Street, Upstairs at the Gatehouse; Sunny Afternoon UK Tour) returns to the Old Joint Stock to play Seymour, along with Bradley Walwyn (Miracle on 34th Street, Old Joint Stock) who will take on the roles of Nicky/Trekkie and Orin.

Joining them and also hailing from the Midlands are: Bella Bowen (The Last 5 Years, The London Theatre; Bad Girls, Upstairs at the Gatehouse) as Audrey, Ben Hutt (RENT, Vivo D’Arte; Dick Whittington, Brick Lane Music Hall) as Princeton/Rod, Cara Dudgeon (Grease, Royal Caribbean; Cinderella, Marlowe Theatre) as Kate/Lucy & Chiffon, Hannah Victoria (Snow Queen UK Tour; Madagascar the Musical UK Tour) as Gary Coleman & Ronnette, and Matt Bond (Jerry Springer: The Opera, Hope Mill Theatre; Comedy of Errors & Festive Tales, RSC) as Audrey II.

Completing the cast will be Etheria Chan (Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, Spanish Original Cast & Tour) making her UK debut as Christmas Eve, Tabitha Rose making her professional debut as Crystal, and Thomas Cove (The Wizard of Oz, Selladoor; Aliens Love Underpants UK Tour) as Brian & Mushnik.

Director Adam Lacey said: “We are always trying to push the boundaries of what is possible in a fringe theatre. Producing two shows, back to back, with the same cast is a new challenge for us, and an exciting project for everyone involved. These productions were due to take place last summer, and we can’t wait to finally bring these shows, and this fantastic cast to Birmingham following what has been an impossible year for everyone in our industry.”

Avenue Q runs from 27 July-21 August 2021, followed by Little Shop of Horrors from 1-26 September 2021.
