Full casting announced for 25th anniversary production of CLOSER at Lyric Hammersmith
Full casting has been announced for the 25th anniversary production of Patrick Farber’s Closer, the Olivier award-winning play based on the Hollywood hit film of the same name.
The show, which is an exploration of love, sex and the fragility of the human heart, opens at the Lyric Hammersmith on 14 July, directed by Clare Lizzimore.
The cast includes Jack Farthing as Dan, Ella Hunt in her stage debut as Alice, Nina Toussaint-White as Anna and Sam Throughton as Larry. The ensemble cast includes Kane Feagan, Georgia-Rose Oliver, Sam Purkis and Wilf Walsworth, who are all part of Springboard, a free two year training programme launched this year by Lyric Hammersmith theatre aiming to nurture the next generation of performers.
Writer Patrick Marber said: “For this 25th anniversary production of Closer, I’m most looking forward to Clare Lizzimore, a great director taking the play by the scruff of the neck and making it resonate for her generation. I’m also really looking forward to seeing these four brilliant actors make this play their own. The story has amassed a cult following for the play and the film and I believe it struck a chord amongst so many audiences because Closer is at its heart, a love story.”
