Full cast announced for major revival of MRS. WARREN’S PROFESSION

Sonia Friedman Productions has announced full principal casting for the upcoming major revival of George Bernard Shaw’s Mrs. Warren’s Profession, which plays at London’s Garrick Theatre from 10 May-16 August.

Newly edited and directed by Dominic Cooke, the cast includes Kevin Doyle (Pressure, Royal Lyceum Theatre) as Reverend Samuel Gardner, Robert Glenister (The Seagull, West End) as Sir George Crofts, Reuben Joseph (A View From The Bridge, Tron Theatre) as Frank Gardner, and Sid Sagar (Ballet Shoes, National Theatre) as Mr Praed, alongside the previously announced Imelda Staunton as Mrs Kitty Warren and Bessie Carter as Vivie Warren in the production.

“I am my mother’s daughter. I am like you. But my work is not your work, and my way is not your way.”

Vivie Warren is a woman ahead of her time. Estranged from her wealthy mother, she delights in a glass of whisky, a good detective story, and is determined to carve herself a sparkling legal career in an age ruled by men.

Her mother, however, is a product of that old patriarchal order. Exploiting it has earned Mrs. Warren a fortune and paid for her daughter’s expensive education - but at what cost?

The production features design by Chloe Lamford, lighting by Jon Clark, sound by Christopher Shutt, and casting by Amy Ball CDG.
