Florence and the Machine star to create new musical version of THE GREAT GATSBY

It has been announced today that Florence Welch of indie rock band Florence and the Machine will be involved in a new musical production of The Great Gatsby.

Welch will act as co-composer and lyricist, alongside the award-winning Thomas Barlett, with a book written by Martyna Majok, based on F Scott Fitzgerald’s novel.

Rebecca Frecknall will direct the piece, which will receive an out-of-town tryout prior to a Broadway run, although a timeline and details of this have yet to be revealed.

An original cast recording will be also released on Warner Music.
