Fiver musical to be live streamed from Southwark Playhouse
It has been announced today that Fiver will return to Southwark Playhouse in a brand new live streamed concert after premiering at the venue last year to critical acclaim. The musical received a Whatsonstage award nomination for best Off-West End musical, along with three West End Wilma Awards.
The concert will feature all of the songs from the production plus an adapted script and an exclusive performance of a brand new song. The cast includes Luke Bayer, Dan Buckley, Aoife Clesham, Hiba Elchikhe and Alex James Ellison.
Written by Alex James Ellison and Tom Lees, Fiver follows the story of a humble five-pound note as it passes through the hands and pockets of people in London. Unnoticed and unaware, the five-pound note is present for significant moments in each person’s life – whether it be an appreciation of their skills as a street performer, the start or end of a relationship or the simple realisation that they can afford a bed for the night.
The series of musical vignettes explores the value of money, relationships between people and the relationships between people and their money. Through carefully interwoven narratives, the show teaches the value and worth of a fiver to different types of people.
The concert will be live streamed on 27 & 28 November, with two performances on the Saturday, with a running time of 90 minutes. Tickets cost £15 and can be purchased here.
