Theatre by the Lake have announced five new co-productions for their spring/summer 2023 season. 

Co-produced by Hull Truck Theatre, Around the World in 80 Days will take the audience on a global adventure. Directed by Hal Chambers, the production runs 31 March-29 April. This will be followed by The Lost Spells – A New Musical, a fun and boisterous show from the bestselling book by Robert MacFarlane and Jackie Morris. This show suitable for all the family will be full of music and dancing, running from 24 May-3 June. Tuning In, a one-man tour de force runs from 7-15 June, and follows the story of Reagan who comes home from a date covered in blood. 

July sees Blonde Bombshells of 1943, a co-production between Theatre by the Lake, Octagon Theatre Bolton and Stephen Joseph Theatre, come to the stage. This lavish new production follows an all-girl swing band in the north who lose members every time they play a GI camp and who are in need of new band mates when they are offered an important BBC job. Directed by Lotte Wakeham and featuring an original script by Alan Plater, this production runs 5-29 July. 

Produced by Theatre by the Lake and Stephen Joseph Theatre, The 39 Steps will grip audiences with its fast pace, non-stop laughs and many characters played by only four performers. Directed by Paul Robinson, the show runs 3 August-2 September.
