It may be a grey and rainy Sunday morning but don’t worry, the theatre world has just the thing you need to brighten it all up, in fact it has just a little bit of glitter in the grey. The trailer (and the poster) for the hotly anticipated screen adaptation for hit musical Everybody’s Talking About Jamie has been released.

Starring newcomer Max Harwood in the leading role of Jamie New, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie tells the story of a teenage lad with a dream of becoming a drag queen and has to overcome bullies and prejudice to achieve his dreams. The film also stars Sarah Lancashire as Margaret New and Richard E. Grant as Hugo/Loco Chanelle.

The film was originally due to premiere this autumn but due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, it has sadly been delayed until 26 February 26 2021, but at least that gives us something to look forward to.

The trailer gives us a glimpse at the characters we have come to know and love from the stage production and treats us to snippets of some of the songs. It’s full of colour, glitter and joy whilst also touching at the musical’s sadder and darker moments. There are going to be a lot of people excited for this one!
