Finborough Theatre announces free online stream of new musical Adding Machine

Adding Machine

London’s Finborough Theatre has announced it is streaming the UK premiere of Adding Machine: A Musical for free.

Originally performed and recorded at the theatre back in 2016, the production is the latest in the #FinboroughForFree series.

Jason Loewith and Joshua Schmidt’s “dark anti-musical” is an award-winning adaption of Elmer Rice’s 1923 satirical play.

The hilarious show follows the journey of Mr Zero, who after 25 years working in a department store, is replaced by a machine. Expressing some racial prejudice, he ends up taking matters into his own hands and murders his boss.

Josh Seymour directs a stellar cast including the brilliant Joseph Alessi as Mr Zero.

Adding Machine: A Musical won the Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Musical and the Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding New Off-Broadway Musical and Outstanding New Score.

The Finborough Theatre is running its #FinboroughForFree programme after all its previously announced productions were cancelled amid the pandemic.

New shows will be available to stream for free every month, with viewers given the option to donate to the theatre’s crowdfunder.

Adding Machine: A Musical will be available until 12 November.

The Finborough Theatre is also streaming the 2019 world premiere of Blueprint Medea until 14 November and the 2017 world premiere of Continuity until 31 December.
