The Finborough Theatre have been forced to revise their previously announced January-April season due to the ongoing Covid pandemic.

The new season opens with the world premiere of Bacon. Written by Sophie Swithinbank and directed by Matthew Iliffe, Bacon is a humorous and unfiltered look at masculinity, sexuality and power through the eyes of teenagers set in modern day London, playing from 1-26 March.

Following Bacon, the long overdue English production of The Straw Chair will play from 19 April-14 May 2022. Written by award winning Scottish playwright Sue Glover and starring Siobhan Redmond, The Straw Chair is a classic Scottish tale based on a true story and explores marriage, madness and incarceration against the background of the Western Isles.

Finishing off the revised season is the world premiere of British-Russian co-production, Bliss. Written by award-winning playwright Fraser Grace and based on a short story by the little known Russian writer Andrey Platonov, Bliss plays from 17 May-11 June 2022. Bliss is a colourful tale of how the survivors of the Russian Revolution search for their ‘bliss’ while trying to understand how society needs time to recover after catastrophe.

Meanwhile, Finborough Theatre are still releasing online content as part of the Finborough Frontier. An Earls Court Miscellany and How To Make A Revolution are currently available to view online with further online productions being announced shortly.
