Shannon Hayes has been announced as joining Niamh Cusack in The Seven Pomegranate Seeds at the Rose Theatre in Kingston. 

Hayes (Raya, Ted Lasso) will star alongside Cusack, who is an associate artist at the Rose, from 4-20 November. 

The Seven Pomegranate Seeds is written by Colin Teevan and tells seven contemporary stories, which have mythical groundings. Persephone, Hypsipyle, Medea, Alcestis, Creusa and Demeter are reimagined in today’s world and charters a journey through rage and redemption. 

The piece will be directed and designed by Rose Theatre associate artist Melly Still, with original music and sound by John Nicholls, lighting by Malcolm Rippeth, associate design by Amanda Ramasawmy and assistant direction by Layla Madanat, having taken placement as part of the Rose Theatre’s 2021/2022 Peter Hall Emerging Artists Fellow.
