Filmed capture of WAITRESS musical to be shown in Times Square

The upcoming live stage capture of Waitress on Broadway, starring Sara Bareilles, will be screened free of charge on TSX Entertainment’s 18,000 square foot digital screen in Times Square, New York on 12 June, it has been announced.

Sound will be made available through TSX's mobile app.

The free screening will be shown alongside the film’s previously announced Tribeca Film Festival world premiere at BMCC Theatre.

The musical was recorded during its New York revival at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre in 2021, with its return paying tribute to the late Nick Cordero who originated the role of Earl on Broadway.

Alongside Bareilles, the cast includes Christopher Fitzgerald as Ogie, Drew Gehling as Dr. Pomatter, Charity Angél Dawson as Becky, Caitlin Houlahan as Dawn, Eric Anderson as Cal, Dakin Matthews as Joe, and Joe Tippett as Earl. Completing the Broadway encore company are Tyrone Davis, Jr., Matt DeAngelis, Andrew Fitch, Henry Gottfried, Molly Jobe, Emily Koch, Max Kumangai, Anastacia McCleskey, Gerianne Pérez, Stephanie Torns, and Nyla Watson.

Directed by Diane Paulus, and joined by Brett Sullivan and book writer Jessie Nelson to direct the live stage filming, the production features sets by Scott Pask, costumes by Suttirat Anne Larlarb, lighting by Tony Christopher Akerlind, sound by Jonathan Deans, music supervision by Nadia DiGiallonardo, and casting by Telsey + Company.
