Sequel of much-loved children’s classic THE RAILWAY CHILDREN announced

Railway Children cast

Some 50 years after the film release, a sequel of The Railway Children is in the works, featuring a stellar cast including original star Jenny Agutter, Sheridan Smith and Tom Courtenay.

Based on Edith Nesbit’s much-loved novel of the same name and directed by Morgan Matthews, The Railway Children Return has been written by Danny Brocklehurst and follows a group of children who are evacuated to a Yorkshire village during World War Two, where they encounter a young soldier who, like them, is far from home.

Agutter returns in the role of Roberta ‘Bobbie’ Waterbury, with the iconic Keighley & Worth Valley Railway from the original film set to feature once again.

The Railway Children Return has set a 1 April 2022 cinema release date.

Exciting news, Besties!
