Family-run pub theatre The Old Red Lion announces new reopening season

Old Red Lion

Family-run pub theatre The Old Red Lion has announced plans to bring fringe theatre back to North London this winter with several new productions.

The venue has partnered with local family businesses, working within the confines of current government regulations, to provide substantial hospitality and bring quality entertainment back to the community. The Devine family have operated the pub venue for 21 years and have banded together to ensure that a successful reopening is possible.

In its reopening season, the venue will be platforming works that were originally scheduled for Edinburgh, or have been created during lockdown, with The Old Red Lion showcasing an eclectic programme of new writing. The venue has reduced its capacity to 20 people, with two performances each evening at 6pm and 8.30pm

Big Fan’s Campfire will play on 18 & 21 December, with Stephanie Dickson’s BARK being staged on 17 & 19 December. Also included in the programming is Alexander Knott’s December running from 20 December - 5 January and Matthew Gouldesbrough’s Truth/Reconciliation from 28 - 30 December.

David Shopland and Shereen Roushbaiani’s Saving Britney, produced by Fake Escape, will play from 13 January - 16 January, followed by The Count of Monte Christo by Adam Elliot and Oliver Malam, running from 26 January - 31 January.
