Everybody’s Talking About Jamie film postponed indefinitely

Everybody's Talking About Jamie

According to Deadline, the eagerly anticipated film adaptation of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie has been postponed indefinitely.

The film, based on the hit stage musical, was originally scheduled for release on 26 February 2021 but Disney has taken the decision to delay the 20th Century Fox film, marking it as “unset” for the time being.

Directed by stage musical director Jonathan Butterell, with a screenplay co-written by musical book writers Dan Gillespie Sells and Tom MacRae, the film will star newcomer Max Harwood as Jamie New, alongside Richard E Grant as Hugo/Loco Chanel, Sarah Lancashire as Margaret New, Sharon Horgan as Miss Hedge and Shobna Gulati as Rey.

No further details have been revealed but it is wondered whether the film adaptation will bypass a cinema release and go straight to a streaming platform.

We will keep our ear to the ground, Besties!
