Enter.Stage.Write and Amplified: A Theatrical Renaissance Beckons

Enter.Stage.Write proudly announces its revival in the traditional theatre format, partnering with West End Best Friend, to bring audiences a triumphant celebration of emerging talent.

This partnership marks the return of the much-anticipated 2nd year of Amplified competition part of the Enter.Stage.Write writing award show back to its original format, promising an unforgettable experience for theatre enthusiasts.

In a dazzling three-day Writers' Festival hosted at Birmingham Hippodrome's Patrick Studio on 25 and 26 January 2024, Enter.Stage.Write is set to reclaim the spotlight. Supported by Birmingham Hippodrome and Broadcast Executives, this gala event promises an extraordinary showcase of scriptwriting brilliance.

Amplified, tailored exclusively for Black and Asian comedy writers, returns for its second year with acts from the award-winning Bollywood Choreographer Reena Tailor, ensuring a unique and culturally rich experience for the audience.

Natalie Edwards-Yesufu, the founder of Transition Stage Company and the visionary founder of Enter.Stage.Write, emphasises the franchise's commitment to its roots, stating: "Enter.Stage.Write is a place where the audience can experience new writing performances and vote for their favourite writer to become a grand champion. What's unique about the 'Enter.Stage.Write' franchise is the interactive element, allowing the audience to judge their favourite writer."

The StoryTown Festival, dedicated to exploring innovation in storytelling across various industries, will provide a captivating backdrop to the two productions. With only 100 tickets available for each night, this rare double feature is a must-attend for theatre lovers. As Enter.Stage.Write and Amplified take centre stage, writers and audiences alike can anticipate a glitzy affair celebrating the best of live performances. Natalie emphasises the significance of this return to the stage, stating,

‘’Embarking on Enter.Stage.Write was my way of bringing back the heartbeat of storytelling. In the tapestry of human history, performances originated on the stage or in the streets, shaping narratives that echoed through time. While Transition Stage Company explored film, this competition is a vibrant return to the roots. It's about experiencing the magic of live performance, where new ideas breathe, and writing finds its essence, resonating in real-time with the community."

Esteemed judges, including Chris Sudworth, Creative Director at Birmingham Hippodrome, and BAFTA-winning Producer Lisa Walters, will preside over the competitions. Previous champions have soared to new heights in their careers, securing representation and helming film projects. Chris Sudworth, Creative Director at Birmingham Hippodrome, expressed excitement about supporting Enter.Stage.Write, stating: "We are delighted to support Birmingham's award-nominated and progressive Transition Stage Company with their annual showcase of brilliant - and funny - new writing from across the UK."
