Elton John & Tim Rice’s AIDA has sights set on West End in 2023

Original Broadway star of Disney’s Aida, Schele Williams, has revealed further information regarding bringing Elton John & Tim Rice’s award-winning musical to the West End.

Williams is set to direct the upcoming revival and she recently spoke out on Broadway Podcast Network saying that the show will open in Holland in 2023 and imagines it will open in London before it heads back to the US.

Aida has ironically never played in London despite having a British composer and lyricist.

This new production has a revised book by David Henry Hwang, with choreography by Camille A. Brown, musical supervision by Jason Michael Webb, design by Bob Crowley and lighting by Natasha Katz.
