BroadwayHD and Ginger Quiff Media will present a new digital revival of Richard Maltby Jr and David Shire’s hit musical Closer than Ever in September, featuring a West End cast.

Filmed in London, the piece features self-contained songs which deal with such diverse topics as security, aging, mid-life crisis, second marriages, working couples, and unrequited love.. It is directed and choreographed by Stacey Haynes, with co-direction by the show's original lyricist Richard Maltby Jr, musical direction by Nick Barstow, production design by Andrew Exeter, and costumes by Natalie Alverez.

The four-hander will star Kerry Ellis (Wicked), Dalton Harris (X Factor winner), Lee Mead (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat) and Grace Mouat (Six).

Richard Maltby Jr. and David Shire said: “We’re thrilled to be able to revive this project once  again, with a fantastic West End cast at the helm! We’re excited to see what the talent will  unlock in this brand-new adaptation and can’t wait for audiences around the world to witness the magic.”

Thomas Hopkins and Michael Quinn of Ginger Quiff Media added: “We’re excited to take the next step in our relationship with BroadwayHD to create an original production with this fantastic cast and crew. Although theatres may be re-opening, we still think there is a huge place for digital work allowing people across the world to access high quality entertainment.”
