Following the previously reported bleak news debating its future, we are delighted to now hear that Ellen’s Stardust Diner will be re-opening on 1 October.

World famous for its singing wait staff, the New York City restaurant will be back open for patrons but with social distancing in place.

Artistic Director, Scott Barbarino, said on Facebook: "It's time for you my fellow New Yorkers and our fans around the world to come back to what is the heart of our great city. Support Live Entertainment!"

The diner is always a popular attraction for residents and tourists alike, and often sees queues of people outside waiting for a table. It currently has 200+ employees on its books, which includes front of house staff and those working behind the scenes.

A GoFund Me campaign has raised over $28,000 to date to aid some of the employees who have been hit hardest by the extended closure.
