Organisers of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe have confirmed its summer event will go ahead with both in-person and digital offerings this year, by announcing registration will open on 5 May.

The event is scheduled to run from 6-31 August, with registered performers and venues being able to access a new online Fringe Player, whether they are performing live in Edinburgh or not, which will provide a secure platform to host shows.

Registration costs have also been reduced by 25% this year to help performers make a strong return following its cancellation in 2020.

Tickets will go on sale for the programme in early summer.
