Disney working on stage musical adaption of Hidden Figures
Broadway seems to love adapting films for the stage right now, with Hidden Figures now being added to that ever growing list!
Released in 2016, Hidden Figures tells the stories of Dorothy Vaughan, Mary Jackson and Katherine Johnson; three black female mathematicians who worked for NASA during the Space Race. It was nominated for three Oscars including Best Picture and two Golden Globes.
A stage version of the film has been ongoing since 2018, with film critic Elvis Mitchell (who created the documentary The Black List) working with Disney producers on the project. The New York Times reported that the show hopes to increase diversity on Broadway.
Further information about cast, crew, and dates are yet to be announced so keep your eyes peeled for more information.
