Diana: A True Musical Story to be released on Netflix prior to Broadway opening

The Daily Mail’s Baz Bamigboye has reported that Diana: A True Musical Story will be filmed without an audience at the Longacre Theatre in New York and released on Netflix, prior to opening on Broadway in 2021.

Diana was due to make its Broadway debut on 31 March but sadly lockdown took hold on 12 March.

The musical about Diana, the Princess of Wales and one of the 20th century’s most compelling figures, has been written by Joe DiPietro and David Bryan (Memphis) and directed by Tony Award winner Christopher Ashley (Come From Away), with musical supervision and arrangements by Olivier award winner Ian Eisendrath, choreography by Olivier winner and Tony award nominee Kelly Devine, and costume design by six-time Tony award winner William Ivey Long.

The cast features Jeanna de Waal in the title role, Roe Hartrampf as Prince Charles, Erin Davie as Camilla Parker Bowles and two-time Tony award winner Judy Kaye as Queen Elizabeth.
