Critically acclaimed play TRADE embarks on UK tour
After its sell-out success last year, Ella Dorman-Gajic’s Trade will begins its countrywide tour at Pleasance Theatre this evening (20 March), before visiting Nottingham, Exeter, Birmingham and Norwich.
Trade explores the fate of a young woman plunged into a perilous underground world, spanning Bosnia to the UK.
Exploring the ever-present yet rarely-seen issue of sex trafficking in London, Trade is a gripping morality play that powerfully calls into question the archetype of the ‘perfect female victim’.
Directed by Maddy Corner, Katarina Novkovic plays the lead role of Jana, with Eleanor Roberts and Ojan Genc (Apple’s Slow Horses, Hollyoaks) reprising their roles.
Artistically integrated captions make Trade accessible to both d/Deaf audiences and native Bosnian-Croatian-Serbian speakers.
Throughout the tour, the company will collect donations for the leading UK anti-trafficking charity Unseen. The play is being published by Salamander Street and will be sold throughout the tour, with 10% of tickets going to Unseen.
