Critically acclaimed digital production of THE PICTURE OF DORIAN GRAY announces two week extension

The critically acclaimed digital co-production of The Picture of Dorian Gray has announced it will extend for two weeks only, meaning its run will complete on 17 April.

Theatr Clwyd’s Artistic Director Tamara Harvey directs Henry Filloux-Bennett’s adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s classic novel in a co-production with Barn Theatre, Lawrence Batley Theatre Huddersfield, Oxford Playhouse and the New Wolsey Theatre.

This new digital production of a classic utilises elements found in radio plays, films, documentaries as well as theatrical techniques to create a masterpiece for the eyes. There is an outstanding cast including Fionn Whitehead, Alfred Enoch, Joanna Lumley, Emma McDonald, Russell Tovey and Stephen Fry.

Fused together by the creative team behind the critically acclaimed What A Carve Up!, the beloved Faustian tale by Oscar Wilde is thrust into a modern world of Instagram, Facebook and dating apps. Set in a profile pic-obsessed, filter-fixated world, the contemporary tale follows influencer Dorian Gray as he makes a deal for his social star never to fade.

It is a brilliant digital show. Our four and a half star review praised the production for presenting “the story in a way you would not have seen before and to those new to the story, you will be drawn into the strange and twisted world of Dorian and the obsession for looks that drives him to deep and dark extremes.”

Tickets are £12 and includes a link to the production as well as a digital programme. Closed captioning and audio description is also available for all dates.
