Ahead of the commencement of its Spring 2021 season, the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry will host a series of socially distanced test events, in line with the latest government guidelines.

To open the series, Coventry playwright Geoff Thompson will return to the venue for an exclusive in-conversation event to discuss his new memoir, Notes from a Factory Floor, with fellow writer Alan Pollock. The event will be live streamed free of charge on the Belgrade’s Youtube channel.

A number of live music acts will take to the stage in January including: ABBA Mania on 22 January, A Crazy Little Thing Called Queen on 23 January and Roy Orbison and the Travelling Wilburys Experience on 29 January. The Circus of Horrors will also return to the venue on 26 January to celebrate 25 years of astounding, immersive performance.

Back by popular demand, Mischief Theatre’s The Play That Goes Wrong will play in Coventry for the third time from 9-21 February, followed by Coronation Street star Andrew Lancel leading the timely single-hander Swan Song on 24 February.

Heading into March, John Godber’s April in Paris (starring comedy legend Joe Pasquale and West End star Sarah Earnshaw) will run from 4-6 March and lastly The Why? Event, telling honest and raw stories of domestic abuse, will be held in the B2 auditorium on 12 March.
