COPENHAGEN to open at Theatre Royal Bath before embarking on UK Tour

‘COPENHAGEN’ by Michael Frayn has been given a three week run at Theatre Royal Bath followed by a UK Tour, it has been announced today. The play will begin in Bath on 9 June and then tour to Southampton, Malvern, Cambridge and Kingston-Upon-Thames.

Frayn’s multi award-winning play will be directed by Emma Howlett and will star Philip Arditti, Haydn Gwynne, and Malcolm Sinclair. The production was originally due to open in the 2020 Autumn Welcome Back Season but, was postponed due to Covid.

COPENHAGEN’ is a historical detective story set in 1941 Nazi-occupied Copenhagen, with two Nobel Prize winning physicists meeting as old friends but, later find themselves on opposite sides of the divide. The play won the 2000 Tony Award for Best Play after it began at National Theatre and then transferred to Broadway.

The UK Tour will begin on 28 June at Southampton’s MAST Mayflower Studio; it will then go to Malvern Theatres from 5 July – 10 July, followed by a run at Cambridge Arts Theatre between 12 July and 17 July and then concluding the tour in the Rose Theatre in Kingston-Upon-Thames from 20 – 24 July.
