Concept album for new musical FOR TONIGHT announced

A cast of West End musical theatre actors and a Welsh ensemble have come together under producer Blair Russell to present a concept album for new bilingual musical, For Tonight, which will be released on all major digital platforms in Summer 2021.

The book, music and lyrics are by Shenelle Salcido and Spencer Williams, with an additional book by Whitney Rhodes and was inspired by Williams’ three times great grandfather’s handwritten journal.

The story begins in 1832 in a small town in North Wales and follows a Roma family who travel through and stay at the Parry’s farm. The Parry parents tragically die from an unknown disease and the Roma family must go into hiding as they are blamed. The three Parry children then become central to the story as they learn to cope without their parents and go on to lead separate lives, until one of them falls in love with a Roma woman and they have to face bias in their pursuit for love. The three children then reunite to face their biggest fears from their past.

The score uses traditional Welsh choral, indie-pop, folk and Romani-inspired melodies to explore the meaning of power and of home in an atmospheric way.

The cast is formed of; Simon Gordon (Girl From the North Country, Bat Out Of Hell), Amy Di Bartolomeo (We Will Rock You, Bat Out Of Hell), Dale Evans (Kinky Boots, Showboat), Erin Caldwell (Unravelling, Twist and Turn), Jade Davies (Les Misérables, The Phantom of the Opera), Luke McCall (Les Misérables, The Phantom of the Opera), Jake Halsey-Jones (Hamilton, Spring Awakening), Soophia Foroughi (The Prince of Egypt, Broken Wings), Glain Rhys (graduated from The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in 2019) and John Ieuwan Jones (Welsh National Opera, Grange Park Opera) with Owen Jac, Isaac Kreisky and Alexis Wilson taking on the characters in younger forms. Also in the cast are Jordan Allan, Eva Chelsea, Joey Cornish, Sam Ebenezer, Sion Emlyn, Michelle Beth Herman, Hannah Qureshi, Samantha Thomas and Mared Williams.
