Concept album announced for new Erasure musical, Oh L’Amour

Oh L'Amour

A concept album has been announced for brand new musical Oh L’Amour, featuring the music of British synth-pop duo Erasure, which is hoped to be released later this year following a successful crowdfunding campaign.

With the full support of group members Vince Clarke and Andy Bell (music & lyrics), Los Angeles writer Paul Lavoie has penned the book for the new show, which is about a group of friends who experience love and loss against a backdrop of the socially tumultuous 1980’s. Michael A Shepperd is cited to direct the future stage production, with Mitchell Kaplan as Musical Director and Arranger.

The musical will feature many iconic Erasure tracks including the title number ‘Oh L’Amour’, ‘Sometimes’, ‘Blue Savannah’ and of course, ‘A Little Respect’.

The cast has been announced for the forthcoming concept album: Ethan Le Phong (Aladdin, Miss Saigon), Shauntè Massard (Aida), Patrick Ortiz (Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist), Sam Clark (Grease Live) and Lyle Colby Mackston (Priscilla Queen Of The Desert).
