Complete cast and creative team announced for YV UNPACKED: LOVE REIGN

The cast for the Young Vic Unpacked 2021 production has today been announced. The play will tour Southwark and Lambeth before having a run at the Young Vic.

YV Unpacked: Love Reign will star Hannah Ledwidge, Redd Lily Roche, Neeta Sarl, Shakira Malkani and Takina Yearwood. 

Written by Shereen Jasmin Phillips, Love Reign is an eclectic piece of writing set to the backdrop of soulful house music to create a storytelling experience. The ‘YV Unpacked’ tour will visit performance spaces where theatre isn’t usually performed, including community spaces who have provided focused support for different groups such as people who have experienced homelessness and those with learning difficulties and mental health needs. 

The tour will also visit schools in the Lambeth and Southwark area and womens centres to include; Dunraven School, South Bank University Academy, Women in Prison (Beth Centre) at East Hill Baptist Church, Blackfriars Settlement and Certitude London, in Partnership with Portico Gallery.  

Directed by Stef O’Driscoll, the piece has musical direction by Neeta Sarl, with movement direction by Rachael Nanyonjo, design consultation by Khadija Raza and trainee assistant direction by Tomi Adewusi. 

The tour will run from 4–15 October, with a run at the Young Vic from 18–23 October. Tickets are available now here and 10% of tickets to the performance in the Maria Theatre will be given free to schools, neighbours and early-career theatre makers.
