Casting announced for THE CRUCIBLE at Shakespeare's Globe

Shakespeare’s Globe has announced casting for Arthur Miller’s The Crucible, directed by Ola Ince, which is the first modern classic to be staged at the Globe Theatre, running from 8 May-12 July.

The cast comprises Sarah Belcher (Hamnet, RSC/West End) as Ann Putnam/Sarah Good, Sarah Cullum (Faith - The Return/The Arrival, RSC) as Martha Corey/Ruth Putnam/Cover, Gavin Drea (Blood Wedding, Young Vic) as John Proctor, Joshua Dunn (Julius Caesar, RSC/Tour) as Cheever, Steve Furst (My Fair Lady, Curve) as Reverend Parris, James Groom (The Bodyguard, UK tour) as Willard/Cover, Joanne Howarth (The Importance of Being Earnest, Storyhouse Chester) as Rebecca Nurse, Molly Madigan (Romeo and Juliet, Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre) as Mercy Lewis/Cover, Aisha-Mae McCormick (currently studying at Guildhall School of Music and Drama) as Susanna Walcott/Cover, Stuart McQuarrie (Realism, Theatre in Scotland) as Thomas Putnam/Judge Hathorne, Sarah Merrifield (Made in Dagenham in Concert, West End) as Tituba, Scarlett Nunes (Sunset at the Villa Thalia, National Theatre) as Betty Parris, Glyn Pritchard (Tachwedd, Theatre 503) as Francis Nurse, Phoebe Pryce (The Importance of Being Earnest, Royal Exchange) as Elizabeth Proctor, Hannah Saxby (Some Demon, Arcola Theatre/Bristol Old Vic) as Abigail Williams, Gareth Snook (The Divine Mrs S, Hampstead Theatre) as Deputy Governor Danforth, Jo Stone-Fewings (Coriolanus, National Theatre) as Reverend Hale, Howard Ward (Accidental Death of an Anarchist, West End) as Giles Corey, and Bethany Wooding (The Last Disturbance of Madeline Hynde) as Mary Warren.

The Crucible is designed by Amelia Jane Hankin, with music composed by Renell Shaw, fight direction by Kevin McCurdy, movement direction by Ebony Molina, intimacy direction by Raniah Al-Sayed, text and voice coaching by Annemette Verspeak, and casting by Becky Paris CDG.
