The cast includes Aidan Cutler (Here You Come Again, UK tour) as Warren, Dora Gee (Go! The Musical, UK Premiere) as Deb, Melisa Camba (Little Women, Dugdale Arts Centre) as Claire, and James Edge (I Screamed A Scream, Phoenix Arts Club) as Jason.
These accomplished performers bring a wealth of experience from West End and regional productions, ensuring a fresh and engaging interpretation of this contemporary musical.
Ordinary Days is a compelling and emotionally rich musical that follows the lives of four young New Yorkers as they navigate love, ambition, and self-discovery in a fast-paced city. With a vibrant and evocative score, the musical highlights how small moments can create profound connections, resonating with audiences through its humour and poignancy.
Following the critically acclaimed five-star summer production of First Date, which played to sold-out audiences, The Old Joint Stock Theatre continues its commitment to delivering exceptional musical theatre. Under the direction of Karl Steele, with associate director Emily Susanne Lloyd, and musical direction by Nick Allen, this production promises to bring fresh energy and depth to Adam Gwon’s celebrated musical.
Director Karl Steele said: “There is something subtle about Ordinary Days and I’ve had the pleasure of directing this piece previously. I've loved exploring how a shared experience, a connection, a coincidence can form in any way during your everyday routine and how that can bring people together. The ordinary being extraordinary. What's wonderful about this piece is finding those layers and revealing how connected we all are without always being aware of it. We’ve found the perfect cast to share this story. “For beautiful to happen, the beautiful has got to be seen”.”
