Casting announced for world premiere of CLAUS THE MUSICAL at The Lowry
Casting has been announced for the world premiere of Claus The Musical, which runs at The Lowry in Salford from 14 December 2022 – 8 January 2023.
The cast includes Georgie Buckland (Bedknobs and Broomsticks, UK tour) who plays Necile, with Junior Delius (Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga, Netflix) as AK, Chris Draper (School of Rock, International Tour) as Will Knook, Jazz Evans (Sasha Regan’s HMS Pinafore, Wiltons Music Hall & Theatre Royal Winchester) as Awgwa, Jessica Lim (Zorro the Musical) as Shiegra, Mari McGinlay (Yeast Nation, Southwark Playhouse) as Zurline, Alwyne Taylor (The Time Traveller’s Wife, Storyhouse) as the Narrator, Corrine Priest (Les Miserables, West End & UK Tour) as The Fairy Queen, and Harry Winchester (Peter Pan, Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre) as Claus.
Completing the company are Emily George (professional debut), Michael Kholwadia (Les Miserables, Cameron Mackintosh Ltd), Nic Cain (Young Frankenstein, The English Theatre Frankfurt), Emily Tang (professional debut) and Simon Oskarsson (101 Dalmatians, Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre).
Directed by Kate Golledge, adapted for the stage by Simon Warne and with spellbinding music and lyrics from Andy Collyer, Claus The Musical brings the beloved L.Frank Baum children’s classic The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus to life in a show that will appeal to the child in everyone.
New festive music videos have been released of the cast singing ‘The Miracle of Christmas’ and ‘The Children’ for the first time, which can be viewed below.
The production has musical direction by Alex Beetschen, set and costume design by Stewart J Charlesworth, lighting by Aaron Dootson, casting by Jane Deitch, sound by Andrew Johnson, and choreography by Lucinda Lawrence.
