Casting announced for THE STRAW CHAIR at the Finborough Theatre
Casting has been announced for The Straw Chair by Sue Glover, which runs at the Finborough Theatre from 4-29 January 2022.
In 1735, Isabel is sent away from Edinburgh at the age of seventeen to live with her new husband in Gaelic-speaking St Kilda, out on the furthest edges of the Outer Hebrides.
Isabel meets Rachel who is shunned by inhabitants as a seemingly mad woman. Over time, Isabel learns that Rachel is in fact Lady Grange, who was kidnapped by her husband and imprisoned on the island following their bitter divorce. With nothing left to cling to but rage and an old straw chair, we follow the two on their journey in St Kilda.
The show stars Rori Hawthorn as Isabel, Nicholas Karimi as Aneas, Jenny Lee as Oona and Siobhan Redmond as Rachel.
The show will be directed by Polly Creed, with associate direction by Imy Wyatt-Corner and musical direction by Rori Hawthorn.
