Casting announced for Mercury Theatre’s BASKERVILLE!
The Mercury Theatre in Colchester have announced the cast for the upcoming Baskerville! as part of its reopening season, following its closure two years ago in order to refurbish the theatre and make it more accessible.
The production will open on 5 August, running until 22 August, with previews from 30 July.
Baskerville! will consist of 40 characters played by 5 actors, and promises a thrilling new look at Sherlock Holmes and perhaps his most famous adventure, set on the murky moors of Devonshire with heirs to the Baskerville name being killed. Holmes and Watson are on the case!
Directed by creative director of Mercury Theatre Ryan McBryde, the cast includes Richard Ede (The 39 Steps) who will play Sherlock Holmes, alongside recent LAMDA graduate Eric Stroud as Doctor Watson.
Joining them will be Marc Pickering (The Elephant Man) as Stapleton and others, Eva-Jane Willis (Moll Flanders) as Miss Stapleton and others, and Phil Yarrow (Jeeves and Wooster in Perfect Nonsense) as Sir Henry and others.
