Casting announced for MEAN GIRLS movie musical adaptation

Initial casting has been announced for the upcoming Mean Girls film, based on the Broadway musical adaptation.

Angourie Rice (Spider-Man) will play Cady, with Auli’i Cravalho (Moana) as Janis, Jaquel Spivey (A Strange Loop, Broadway) as Damien, and Reneé Rapp as Regina George (who played the role in the Broadway musical).

Tina Fey, who wrote the book for the Broadway show, also writes the movie musical’s feature script, with music by Jeff Richmond and lyrics by Nell Benjamin, and direction by Samantha Jayne and Arturo Perez Jr.
