Casting announced for LOVE GODDESS, THE RITA HAYWORTH MUSICAL at the Cockpit

Final casting has been announced for LOVE GODDESS The Rita Hayworth Musical, which premieres at The Cockpit from 18 November - 23 December.

This new full-length musical is created and co-written by Almog Pail with Stephen Garvey, with 12 original songs by composer-lyricist and music supervisor Logan Medland.

LOVE GODDESS started as ‘Me, Myself and Rita’, a one-woman show created and performed by Almog Pail, after her own family’s experience with Alzheimer’s. Then Love Goddess, the Cabaret won over audiences and critics in Malta, Off-Broadway and at the Canal Café Theatre.

Rita Hayworth is well revered as one of the greatest movie stars to live, earning such monikers as Fred Astaire’s all-time favourite dance partner, Orson Welles’ dream bride and simply the most beautiful woman of her day.

She is portrayed in the show by Almog Pail (Salvage Marines), with Simon Kane (Bleak Expectations, Watermill) as Orson Welles/Harry Cohn, Imogen Kingsley-Smith (recent graduate) as Young Rita, Jane Quinn (Private Lives, UK tour) as Jules Graham/Volga Cansino, and Joey Simon (London stage debut) as Fred Astaire/Eduardo Cansino.

This cast, assembled by Danielle Tarento and Tarento Casting, will be directed by Steve North, with music direction by Archie Combe, choreography by Jacqui Jameson, set design by Mayou Trikerioti, lighting by Danny Vavrečka, costumes by Alice McNicholas, and sound by Nick Burkinyoung and Yerk Audio.
