Performers have been announced for the upcoming fundraising concert ‘Disney…ish’, which is due to take place at the Union Theatre on 16 August which will raise funds for Help Musicians UK.

‘Join us for an evening of nostalgia, where a cast of West End performers and new graduates come together to celebrate the music of the lesser-known animated movies of Don Bluth, DreamWorks and so many more…’

This new concert will feature songs from films such as ‘Thumbelina’, ‘The Swan Princess’, ‘Quest for Camelot’ and others from production houses such as Disney, Don Bluth and DreamWorks and will be produced by Bookend Productions which was founded by West End actress Rebecca Gilliland earlier this year to give artists an opportunity to perform after the pandemic.

The cast includes Michael Vinsen, Amelia Atherton, Rebecca Gilliland, Lee Van Geleen, Etisyai Philip, Nikki Bentley, Daniel Hall, Lydia Fraser, Maria Coyne, Christopher GoPaul, Layna Sheppard, Emmanuel Alba, Ifan Jones, Matt Bateman, Scott Sutcliffe, Lizzie Bea, Kirsty Nunn, Gregory George, Dominic Brewer, Andrew Walker, Charlotte Vaughn, Ruari Kelsey, Duncan Burt, Sinead Wall, Samuel Haughton, Jack Reitman, and Josh LeClair. James Doughty will be the MD.

Rebecca Gilliland has said ‘Help Musicians UK have been a lifeline for so many performers in these last 18 months – and for many years before the COVID pandemic hit – so I’m thrilled we’re going to be able to raise funds for them by celebrating the music from these films that introduced so many of us to musicals. Everyone jumped at the chance to be involved when I suggested it. I’m delighted we’ve been able to get so many West Enders to take part, but also that we’ve been able to give new graduates a chance to perform as they’ve had the unluckiest start in the industry they could have possibly had’

Tickets to ‘Disney…ish’ are available here http://www.uniontheatre.biz/disney-ish.html with plans to stream the concert at a later date.
