Cast announced for Paper Mill Playhouse's THE SOUND OF MUSIC
Paper Mill Playhouse have announced casting for their upcoming production of The Sound of Music, which plays from 2 December 2022 - 1 January 2023.
The show will feature Ashley Blanchet (Waitress, Broadway) as Maria Rainer, Graham Rowat (Dear Evan Hansen, Broadway) as Captain Georg von Trapp, Cáitlín Burke (The Sound of Music national tour) as Mother Abbess, Emily Borromeo (School of Rock, Broadway) as Elsa Schraeder, Gavin Lee (SpongeBob SquarePants, Broadway) as Max Detweiler, Analise Scarpaci (Mrs. Doubtfire, Broadway) as Liesl von Trapp, Andrew Alstat as Rolf Gruber (Grease at Cape Playhouse), Stacia Fernandez (Mamma Mia!, Broadway) as Frau Schmidt, Christopher Gurr (Kinky Boots, Broadway) as Herr Zeller, Paul Slade Smith (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Broadway) as Franz, and Mark Banik (Beautiful first national tour) as Admiral von Schreiber.
The von Trapp children casting includes Coleman Simmons as Friedrich, Jacey Sink as Louisa, Cody Braverman as Kurt, Tara Rajan as Brigitta, Austin Elle Fisher as Marta, Charlotte Sydney Harrington as Gretl, and standbys Charlotte Ewing and Ethan Joseph.
The ensemble cast features Griffin Binnicker, Dean Cestari, Brittany Conigatti, Nick Davis, Vincent DiPeri, Madeleine Doherty, Eric Michael Gillett, Gina Hanzlik, Katie Horner, Mary Illes, Meredith Lustig, Kate Mazza, Christine Price, Chandler Reeves, Emily Royer, Kayleen Seidl, Ariana Valdes, and Kai B. White.
The Sound of Music features music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, and a book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse.
This production is directed by Mark S. Hoebee, with choreography by Kenny Ingram, music direction and coordination by Meg Zervoulis, set design by Kelly James Tighe (based on original set design by James Fouchard), costumes by Leon Dobkowski (based on original costume design by Catherine Zuber), lighting by Charlie Morrison, and sound by Sun Hee Kil.
