Cast announced for CHANGING DESTINY at Young Vic

This morning the Young Vic have announced their complete cast for an epic new stage adaptation of the 4,000-year-old Egyptian poem about the Warrior King Sinuhe, Changing Destiny, written by Booker Prize-winner Ben Okri. The cast consists of two incredible actors, Joan Iyiola (Duchess of Malfi, RSC) and Ashley Zhangazha (Tina The Musical, West End).

The production will be vividly brought to life with design by acclaimed architect Sir David Adjaye, and directed by Young Vic Artistic Director Kwame Kwei-Armah. It will be a radical in-the-round staging of one of the earliest known literary texts that explores the essence of humanity and the complexities of immigration.

Changing Destiny will also feature lighting design by Jackie Shemesh, sound design by XANA, projection design by Duncan McLean, and composition by Tunde Jegede.

Changing Destiny is the first show to be broadcast through Best Seat in Your House, the Young Vic’s immersive multi-camera broadcast experience. There will be a captioned, relaxed and audio described performance during its run in-house too. Live performances of the show at the Young Vic will take place from 9 July - 21 August. You can book your tickets, starting at £10 now here

Further information, including information on obtaining streamed tickets, will be shared in July.
