As part of its International Theatre Month, Broadway on Demand will stream events from across the world each Saturday during January including documentary In The Company of Actors, Anna Karenina the Musical, South Korea’s Xcalibur and an all-male production of The Pirates of Penzance.

Today, documentary In The Company of Actors can be viewed, which features an ensemble of Australia's finest actors, Cate Blanchett, Hugo Weaving, Justine Clarke and Aden Young as they mount a production of Hedda Gabler from rehearsals at Sydney Theatre Company to opening night at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) in New York.

On 16 January, watch a re-telling of Tolstoy’s classic in Anna Karenina the Musical, written by Yuliy Kim with music by Roman Ignatyev. It is directed by Alina Chevik, with choreography by Irina Korneeva.

South Korea’s musical production of Xcalibur will be available on 23 January; composed by Frank Wildhorn, directed by Steven Lane and featuring some of the country’s top actors. The show tells the story of King Arthur, exploring his discovery of new-found responsibility as a young leader and getting married to the love of his life, Guinevere only to experience a reality far from what was expected.

Sasha Regan’s All-Male production of The Pirates of Penzance takes centre stage on 30-31 January. The award-winning show was originally staged at the Union Theatre in Southwark over a decade ago, before transferring to Wilton’s Music Hall and The Rose Theatre Kingston before touring Australia. It has since enjoyed a 2015 UK tour and a further run at Wilton’s Music Hall last year.
