British Country-Pop duo Northern Souvenirs release debut EP this week
British Country-Pop duo Northern Souvenirs release their debut EP, ‘Next Stop’, this Friday (29 January).
The EP features their critically acclaimed singles ‘My Page’ and ‘Niagara Falling’ and is the perfect introduction to the pair’s unique sound and songwriting style; capturing the thrill of adventure, nostalgia for home, and the celebration of love without borders, through vivid storytelling and soaring harmonies.
‘Next Stop’ maps a coming-of-age journey, with all the stations and derailments along the way. Each track marks a pit-stop along the journey, a chapter in the story, with each fork in the road galvanising the faith that, with the right travelling companion, there’s always light at the end of the tunnel, and hope at the Next Stop.
The duo began recording the EP in 2019 with London and Bangkok-based producer North Traiphob Sangkum. The collaboration, which began as a rough demo EP with just two vocals and one rhythm guitar, went from strength to strength, pulling together an immensely talented group of live and session musicians to bring their original songs to life.
Northern Souvenirs have received airtime on local British radio, and Country radio shows and stations throughout 2020, with their tracks also featuring on multiple Spotify Country Playlists.
Adjusting to the “new normal”, the pair played regular virtual gigs across social media throughout the crazy year that was 2020, live-streaming with top UK venues and Country Music platforms, and virtually “touring” their debut single ‘My Page’.
