Bristol Old Vic announces two broadcast premieres in partnership with Sky Arts and YouTube this December

Bristol Old Vic have announced that two of their ground-breaking productions will be coming Sky Arts and YouTube this month.

Touching the Void will premiere on Sky Arts on 9 December at 9pm and will be free to watch on Freeview Channel 11.

Touching the Void is the Bristol Old Vic’s 2021 immersive film where we are transported to the Peruvian Andes to follow the true story of Joe Simpson and Simon Yates and their perilous descent of Siula Grande.

The show is directed by Tony Award-winning Tony Morris and is based upon Joe Simpson’s memoir. Having been filmed at the Bristol Old Vic earlier this year following a sell-out West End run, the show recreates the atmosphere of being in a theatre.

Bristol Old Vic’s record-breaking production of A Christmas Carol will also be available to watch on YouTube UK from 16 December to 1 January 2022 here.

The revival of this popular story features John Hopkins as Scrooge and is adapted by Tom Morris. It is directed by Lee Lyford and has music and lyrics by Gwyneth Herbert.
