This Autumn, London’s Bridge Theatre will be one of the first venues to reopen during the pandemic. Throughout September and October, the newly announced season will feature 12 one-person plays. The auditorium’s flexible seating will accommodate 250 guests at a time, with strict safety measures in place.

The theatre doors will open again at the end of August, with the premiere of Beat the Devil. The new monologue by David Hare will focus on Covid-19 and star Ralph Fiennes. Yolanda Mercy will perform Quarter Life Crisis, and there will also be performances of Zodwa Nyoni’s Nine Lives and Inua Ellams’ An Evening With an Immigrant

Live performances of Alan Bennett’s Talking Heads, which recently aired on BBC IPlayer, will also be staged. Performed as a double bill, the monologues will be delivered by Lesley Manville, Imelda Staunton, Kristin Scott Thomas and more.

Tickets are now available through the Bridge Theatre website, with the guarantee of a refund if the season is delayed.
