Boys from West End to West Midlands perform in aid of Men’s Mental Health

A group of musical theatre actors will come together to perform in a concert at The Civic Stourport next month to raise awareness and money for men’s mental health.

Boys Singing Showtunes will feature a mix of classic and modern musical theatre numbers performed by West End Best Friend’s very own James Edge, along with Joe Ashman (BBC’s Get Even), Joshua Dowen (American Idiot), theatre director Michael Neri, Rhys Owen (Only Fools & Horses Musical) and opera singer Russell Painter.

Director Michael Neri said: “I want to raise awareness and also challenge myself. I haven’t performed publicly in over eight years so the anxiety of doing that again is scary, however, performing for most is a form of therapy, to express and I remember it being just that for me. I hope in performing again I will find that part of me. I’m so lucky to be joined by exceptionally talented friends who will be the focus of the evening.”

The volunteer-operated venue will adhere to all social distancing and safety regulations, with a percentage of the box office takings going to charity, Mind.

Boys Singing Showtunes will play two performances on Sunday 15 November and tickets can be purchased here.
