Birmingham’s Old Joint Stock Theatre announces Summer Rep season

OJS shows

The Old Joint Stock Theatre in Birmingham has announced its most ambitious and exciting summer season yet, featuring two major musical productions.

Produced by the Broadway World UK Award nominated creative team behind the venue’s production of The Full Monty in 2018, the streets of New York are coming to the heart of Birmingham with two of Broadway's best-loved musicals: Avenue Q and Little Shop of Horrors, which will run back to back with the same professional cast performing in both productions.

Avenue Q will run from 27 July-21 August 2021, with Little Shop of Horrors following from 1-26 September 2021.

Artistic Director Adam Lacey said: “We are always trying to push the boundaries of what is possible in a fringe theatre. Producing two shows, back to back, with the same cast is a new challenge for us, and an exciting project for everyone involved. These productions were due to take place last summer, and we can’t wait to finally bring these shows to Birmingham following what has been an impossible year for everyone in our industry.”
