Bethany Cooper Productions announce the world premiere of Katie Redford’s TAPPED at Theatre503

Bethany Cooper Productions have announced that their debut production, the world premiere of Katie Redford’s debut play Tapped, will run at Theatre503 from 5-23 April.

Set in Stapleford, Nottingham (aka Stabbo), Tapped follows Gavi, Jen and Dawn who, at an amateur self help group, share one thing in common: the desire for escapism. A comedy about hopes, fears and big dreams in small places, this heart-warming piece will be directed by Piers Black.

Katie Redford said: “The first short play I ever wrote was on at Theatre503, so to have my debut professional play there is really exciting. Tapped is a play about eating too many Club biscuits, never getting round to fixing the shower and reminiscing about the days of SMTV Live. But fundamentally, it’s also about feeling stuck and fiercely longing for human connection. Even if we do share different opinions on which is the best Club biscuit. (The green one. Always the green one.)”

Founded in 2021, Bethany Cooper Productions develops and produces new writing and family theatre. Aside from their first production being this world premiere, they currently have projects in development with venues including Portsmouth Guildhall and Mayflower Studios.
