BEAUTY AND THE BEAST prequel series postponed by Disney Plus

The eagerly anticipated Beauty and the Beast prequel series has been delayed indefinitely by Disney Plus, due to creative and scheduling issues, it has been reported.

Filming was scheduled to commence this summer but the decision has been made to delay and revisit the series at a later date.

Luke Evans and Josh Gad were poised ready to reprise their roles as Gaston and Le Fou respectively. Other previously announced cast members included Rita Ora, Fra Fee and newcomer Briana Middleton.

Set in the iconic kingdom of “Beauty and the Beast” years before the Beast and Belle’s romance, the series was set to follow Gaston and LeFou (Louie) as they set off with Louie’s step sister Tilly after a surprising revelation from her past comes to light, sending the trio off on an unexpected journey.
