It has been announced that performances of the West End production of Back to the Future: The Musical will now begin at the Adelphi Theatre on Friday 20 August 2021.

Affected ticket holders will be contacted by their point of sale shortly to offer either a transfer to a new date, a credit on their account or a refund.

The show was originally scheduled to open in London in May 2021 but the government’s roadmap has meant that it has been forced to postpone its opening until the summer.

Directed by John Rando, the show has design by Tim Hatley, lighting by Tim Lutkin, sound by Gareth Owen, choreography by Chris Bailey, illusions by Chris Fisher, video design by Finn Ross, orchestrations by Ethan Popp and Bryan Crook, and musical supervision and arrangements by Nick Finlow.

As previously announced, the cast will include Roger Bart as Dr Emmett Brown and Olly Dobson as Marty McFly who will be reprising their roles, alongside Hugh Coles as George McFly, Rosanna Hyland as Lorraine Baines, Cedric Neal as Goldie Wilson, Aidan Cutler as Biff Tannen and Courtney-Mae Briggs as Jennifer Parker.

Joining them will be Will Haswell as Dave McFly, Emma Lloyd as Linda McFly and Mark Oxtoby as Strickland, as well as Rhianne Alleyne, Amy Barker, Matt Barrow, Joshua Clemetson, Jamal Crawford, Bessy Ewa, Ryan Heenan, Cameron McAllister, Alessia McDermott, Laura Mullowney, Nic Myers, Shane O'Riordan, Katharine Pearson, Oliver Tester and Justin Thomas. One more member of the ensemble is still to be revealed.
